Almost every business has a social media presence. Brands invest in creative designs, engaging reels and regular posts to stay visible. Yet one of the most common challenges we hear as a Marketing Agency in Calicut - “We post regularly but where are the enquiries?”
Have you ever wondered why?
Being visible is not the same as being persuasive
Think about the last time you bought something after seeing a social media post. Perhaps a post highlighted a benefit that caught your attention or helped you understand a need you hadn’t considered before while seeing the similar product. That is where the strategic social media marketing comes in.It goes beyond showing people what a brand sell - It communicates value, connects with audience and give people a reason to consider buying.
Behind Every Content Calendar, There Should be a Strategy.
A common challenge in content planning is that everyone is focused on what to post next instead of asking what content we actually need to say.
Before planning the next post, brands need to ask few questions
- What matters to the customer?
- What makes people choose the particular product or services?
- How can we communicate our USP(Unique Selling Proposition) or value in a way that sets apart?
- What specific action should we expect from the customers after seeing the post?
The answers help shape content around actual business goals rather than posting for the sake of consistency.
Some posts introduce a product .Others explain its benefits, build trust, or encourage people to enquire. Each serves a different purpose, but together ,they help move potential customers closer to a purchase .
Beyond the Posting Calendar, Every Product Has a Different Story to Tell
Of course, businesses want to sell their products and services. But people don’t necessarily connect with a brand just because it keeps telling them what they are. Sometimes they need useful information. Sometimes they need to understand the value of a product and, sometimes they simply need a reason to remember the brand when they are ready to make a purchase .
For Kudumbini supermarket - which spans across different locations like
Pattambi, Arangottukara and Kulapully- we at Hawksee introduced special offer campaign formats like Wednesday offer ,Veg offers and Weekly offers .Each format addressed a practical customer need instead of relying on generic promotional announcements, we highlighted relevant products, communicated clear prices and made offers easy to understand to others
This approach helped customers to see the practical value of shopping at Kudumbini. By making the benefits clear as the content gave people a more proper and clarified reason to consider the offer and promote a buying habit and repetition value too.. The real difference lies in how they clearly communicated. Rather than simply announcing that an offer exists, the content shows customers why it is worth their attention.
Make people Interested before asking them to Buy
When Cutee, a brand established in 2007 and known for its soap products, expanded into handwash, face wash and detergent products, we realised that simply announcing a product wasn’t the right option.
We explored engaging video content that introduced the products and built awareness through creative, funny production and continuous integration. Rather than making every piece of content a sales pitch, we focused on giving people something relevant to watch while keeping the products central to the story. Instead of loudly pushing out direct sales; we took a softer and more strategic approach. This allowed us to communicate about the available products without making every message feel like advertisement.
Sometimes the first step towards sales isn’t asking someone to buy their products; the point is to show people what you sell, making them remember it and consider the product when the need arises
Choosing the right format to communicate really matter
It’s always tempting to follow trends or repeat formats that work for other brands. But what works for one business may not work for another; even within the same industry. A simple poster might be all you need to communicate a quick offer whereas a video works better when you want to tell a story. We need to choose the format based on the message itself.
The format should serve the message.
For a travel brand like Namo Travels, we had to stand out . We didn’t want the brand to feel like just another travel agency shouting loudly about standard packages, so we shifted away from traditional packages posters and found creative ways to communicate the same package through different content formats. The result? People were reminded of the destination in fresh engaging ways which ultimately drove enquires and generated sales
The same product can be communicated in different ways, but the right format depends on what your audience want to know, understand and do
In fact, not every post needs to sell
One of the biggest misconception about social media marketing is that every post should generate an inquiry.
Customers don’t always make purchasing decisions after seeing a single post
- Some posts attract attention
- Some educate
- Some build trust
- Some encourage
Each content contributes differently
Social media should work toward a goal
Posting regularly may help for visibility, but visibility alone doesn’t explain why someone should choose you over competitors. As a Leading social media marketing agency in Calicut we believe social media should be more than a content calendar finishing up. Our objective is to make content matter to the people who see it.
